Jamestown Mall
St. Louis, MO
The property, an 1,040,000 sq.ft. Class "A" regional mall, is anchored by four (4) regionally dominant department stores, Famous-Barr (a division of May Company Department Stores), Sears, JC Penney Outlet and Dillard's. The property was acquired in May 2003, from Richard E. Jacobs Companies. At the time of its acquisition, due to lack of proper marketing and management, the property's vacancy rate was more than 30%. CDG's redevelopment plan includes an aggressive leasing and marketing program to fill in the existing merchandising gap. This will include, value family and children's clothing, as well as food and entertainment. The Jamestown Mall was partially divested in September 2009. Carlyle, which retained ownership of over 60 acres of developable land and a 200,000 square foot anchor retail building, is the master developer by the current mall owners for the Jamestown Village Redevelopment Area.
